Grant Details:
The Orwell Village School Booster Club (OVSBC) is pleased to continue the OVSBC Grant Program. Our grants are in place to enrich or enhance the academic and social/emotional experiences of Orwell Village School students. All funds must make possible a purchase or experience that would otherwise not be possible for our students (i.e. OVSBC funds may not be used for anything already included in the Orwell Village School budget).
Each grantee can request up to $500 at any time. If your request is larger than $500, please talk to a OVS Booster Club member. Entries will be considered in the order in which they are received, and accepted on a rolling basis. All funded projects must align with one or more of the following stated missions of the Orwell Village School Booster Club:
Improve or expand student learning within a specific academic subject
Improve or expand student cultural understanding and appreciation
Improve or expand student communication and collaboration skills
Provide students an opportunity to engage in learning experiences connected to real-world issues and challenges
Grant applications must demonstrate how the requested funds will be used to accomplish one one or more of the above stated goals.
Examples of fundable projects include:
Hosting visits from artists/writers/scientists/other outside professionals for presentations and work with students.
Hosting a speaker who represents another culture or has experienced a unique historical/cultural event.
Field trip to a cultural/historic/geographically significant location not otherwise funded by the school.
Purchasing and painting picnic tables/birdhouses for the school.
Funds to establish a mentor program for Orwell Village School students.
Purchasing drum building kits/knitting supplies to fulfill a niche musical/cultural interest related to classroom study.
If you're interested in school spirit items (like t-shirts or water bottles) for students, please communicate directly with a booster club member.
All applications should clearly demonstrate how classroom study relates to and will be enhanced by the grant funded project and how the project is not currently funded within the current OVS school budget.
Please feel free to reach out to a OVS Booster Club member to discuss your project if you have questions regarding its compatibility with the OVSBC mission before completing your application.
